Rewilding defines 'fitness' as the capacity to respond to any demand the situation or environment places upon it.
Rewilding classes are a combination of skill-workshops, conditioning programs and educational seminars. All designed to restore the human body to its most ‘natural’ and functional best.
It’s not, “I want a six pack” or some other isolated target but the development of the physical and mental competence to respond to any demand placed upon you.
Rewilding borrows from natural (or functional) whole-body movement practices, parkour, yoga, calisthenics, gymnastics and more. It is an education in exercise and fitness training that will stay with you forever.
We don't believe that people need a gym to functionally fit! We do think it's helpful to have a guide. So our goal in Rewilding is to teach you how to move and then let you lose on the world. If we do our job well, we'll never see you again!
Of course if you want to come back and stay connected to the Rewilding community, you can!
In general the introductory Rewilding program lasts for 8-weeks. In that time we teach a wide range of movement skills and movement theory.
The program is challenging but staged. We start with basic movements (which are within everyone's reach) and then increase the complexity and difficulty as you increase in confidence and ability.
Workouts are designed to make well-rounded and competent human beings. People who can crawl, balance, jump, climb, run, lift and carry, throw and catch: the perfect generalist.
Everything learned is designed to be taken away and applied in daily life. We even head out doors to test our skills in natural environments.
"When you reconnect with your body's natural movement abilities everything, from getting out of bed to moving furniture and playing with your children will feel different."
There is no doubt in our minds that Rewilding is the fitness model of the future.
